Out Canadian MP’s Christmas card features husband
Scott Brison, a married, openly gay Member of Parliament in Canada, is believed to be the first federal politician to feature his same-sex spouse on a holiday card, according to The Globe and Mail. “What could be more rural Nova Scotian than two guys and their dog standing in front of the Minas Basin,” Brison said. “It’s almost got a Norman Rockwell quality to it. It’s kind of Canadian Gothic.”
Brison, 42, has been in office since 2000, and became the first openly gay Cabinet member in Canada after being appointed by Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin.
