Victory Fund candidate Annise Parker currently leads all opponents in her race to become the next mayor of Houston.  With 39% of precincts reporting, Parker has 29.8% of the vote.  Gene Locke and Peter Brown trail with 25.8% and 23.8% respectively.  The top two finishers will go to a runoff election in mid-December.

If elected, Parker will become the first openly gay mayor of major American city.  Houston is the fourth largest city in the country.
