Obama nominates first openly LGBT U.S. Marshall
Minneapolis, Minn. assistant police chief Sharon Lubinski will become the first openly LGBT U.S. Marshall. The Advocate reported on the nomination:
President Barack Obama has nominated a Minnesota policewoman to become a U.S. marshal; she would be the first openly gay person to wear the badge.
Sharon Lubinski is an assistant chief in the Minneapolis Police Department, where she has worked for 20 years, reports the Associated Press.
Lubinski will join the growing list of openly LGBT officials appointed by the administration.
