Among a half dozen openly LGBT elected officials who spoke at the National Equality March, New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, Utah State Sen. Scott McCoy and Falls Church, Va., City Councilman Lawrence Webb urged marchers to engage in electoral politics, keep the pressure on their representatives in Congress and run for office themselves to bring change to government.
