pic.jpgIn an unanimous ruling, the Georgia Supreme Court upheld a lower court’s ruling that alleged, in part, that transgender political candidate Michelle Bruce defrauded voters by representing her gender as female. Bruce narrowly lost her re-election bid for the Riverdale City Council to newcomer Wayne Hall last year.

In the case, unsuccessful candidates Randall Fuller and Stan Harris alleged that was actually a man and lied to voters by presenting herself as a woman. According to the Southern Voice, the court found that the candidates “failed to produce evidence of fraud, misconduct or illegality” in their suit against Riverdale City Clerk Stephanie Thomas.

Fuller and Harris also raised issues about the handling of absentee ballots, improper campaigning and other topics.
