This is a cheap fundraising and sympathy ploy. Those flyers have circulated in the neighborhood long before this campaign. He entered the race late and had more money than all the other candidates which he used to send upwards of five copies of his campaign lit to households in the district, and since most of these flyers never mentioned or pictured his partner, and labeled his experience as 'non profit' and not at the GLBT community center, their campaign is really stretching to say he's being targeted. It's irresponsible for a national website to get involved in a neighborhood race when you know nothing about what goes on here, and then publish off base articles like this without any research or first hand knowledge.
